Unlike other contractors we do vacuum breaker installation right the first time. Many times we are asked by a homeowner or landscaper to come in and modify an existing system we did not originally install. The project will vary, we might rebuild the system to work around a new pool, an addition or a change in the landscaping. When we complete the work we discover our competitors’ poor work. Sometimes we just look at each other and ask what were they thinking? (See Pictures Below)
Our technicians have been told to start taking pictures when the see poor workmanship. One very visible example of poor workmanship is where the plumbing comes out of the house at the vacuum breaker. We believe if you are going to do something do it right. Our competitors use to few anchors, fail to straighten or level pipes and vacuum breakers, and run the vacuum breaker off of existing faucets.
This is an example of a proper vacuum breaker installation. We promise to do it right, we tie the vacuum breaker into the pipe right above the water meter. We use a one inch line from the source to the vacuum breaker outside. This will give your sprinkler system the maximum amount of water volume and increase the performance of your sprinkler system.
- We never go off an existing outside faucet with an 3/4″ copper line.
- We use a professional licensed plumber
- The vacuum breaker will be straight and if necessary bracketed to the wall.
It is unlikely that our competitors will quit installing poor plumbing so look for more pictures of bad vacuum breakers being added to this page throughout the year.
